From an entrance in Lavington to a bedside in Kilimani, the pieces that bring a room together.
The console's proportions beneath the existing artwork.
Lavington, Nairobi · Entrance
Room for a welcome
The entrance already had a favourite landscape painting. What it needed was a piece beneath it: somewhere for keys and a small welcome home, without filling the passage.
The brief
Complete the entrance around the existing artwork, keeping the route through the house open.
The piece we chose
We supplied a curved wooden console. Its narrow profile sits between the door frames, while the drawer gives everyday essentials a place out of sight.
What it brought to the room
The console gives the painting an anchor. Warm wood against the pale wall makes the entrance feel complete, with space to move around the piece.

Westlands, Nairobi · Console setting
A little character by the stairs
In this Westlands home, the spot beside the stairs called for a useful surface with some personality. The client's red flamingos made the starting point an easy one.
The brief
Find a console that works with the timber floor and leaves room for objects the client already enjoys.
The piece we chose
We supplied a wooden console with curved ends and a single drawer. The client added the flamingos, a wooden bowl and a woven pot, keeping the arrangement personal.
What it brought to the room
The red accents stand out against the wood and pale wall. The console brings the objects together without competing with the staircase beside it.
Our contribution · Console table supply. Decorative objects and styling form part of the client's setting.

Kilimani, Nairobi · Bedroom
A softer end to the day
The bed and bedside cabinets were already in place. For this Kilimani bedroom, the last layer was lighting that would sit naturally with the wood and feel welcoming in the evening.
The brief
Add bedside lighting to an existing bedroom without changing its furniture or palette.
The piece we chose
We supplied a pair of table lamps with textured bases and broad shades. Their light falls across the cabinets and wall, bringing warmth to either side of the bed.
What it brought to the room
Two pools of light frame the bed and bring out the tones in the timber. The room comes together through a small addition rather than a complete refit.
Our contribution · Bedside lamp supply. Bed, cabinets, curtains and bedding are outside this story's scope.

Kileleshwa, Nairobi · Home office
A working corner with a point of view
A wooden desk and favourite artwork gave this Kileleshwa workspace its character. The client wanted a lamp that belonged in the room just as comfortably as it belonged beside the desk.
The brief
Introduce a light beside the desk while leaving the working surface clear.
The piece we chose
We supplied a slender floor lamp with a green shade. Its small footprint leaves the desk free, and its warm metal finish sits easily alongside the wood and framed artwork.
What it brought to the room
The lamp adds a clear accent beside the desk. Green glass, warm light and timber give the working corner a character of its own.
Our contribution · Floor lamp supply. Desk, chairs and artwork are part of the existing interior.

Two landscape artworks in the supplied dining-room photograph.
Lavington, Nairobi · Dining room
Something to linger over
The dining table was already a place for tea and conversation. In this Lavington home, the wall above it needed something with the same warmth and personal feel.
The brief
Bring interest to the dining wall while keeping the existing table and chairs.
The piece we chose
We supplied two framed landscape artworks. Their different proportions allow a relaxed arrangement, with the river scene and garden bridge sharing a green palette.
What it brought to the room
The pictures give the wall a focus. Their warm frames work with the dining furniture, while the landscapes add colour without dominating the room.
